End of Life of Joomla 1.6 |

|
Joomla 1.6 has reached its end on 19 August 2011. All Joomla 1.6 users are advised to upgrade to the latest Joomla 1.7 version. Joomla 1.6 will have no further security updates. All Joomla users can follow the Upgrade Steps as described in Joomla's Documentation. |
Hi Nathan,
I think you should go for 1.7 if you're planning to upgrade to 1.8.
There's no reason why you can't go for 1.7 except if meron ka talagang mga modules
na gagamitin na wala pang version nun.
But if you really want to use 1.6 naman better make sure na it's 1.6.5 and higher
so you can use the one-click version update para mas madali na
mag upgrade to 1.7 and then later on 1.8:

Simple question, what version of Joomla! should I use?
I'm going to be making a new site, although I know that ver 1.5 is the
stable version, I think I should go for a next release such as 1.6 or
1.7.
I know that there will be a 1.8 version soon so what do I choose in
terms of support and everything. I'm currently exploring 1.6 and is
starting to like it, but haven't tried 1.7 so which one should I go
for?
Thanks!
Nathan
