Which version of Joomla! should I use?

Hi!

Simple question, what version of Joomla! should I use?
I'm going to be making a new site, although I know that ver 1.5 is the
stable version, I think I should go for a next release such as 1.6 or
1.7.
I know that there will be a 1.8 version soon so what do I choose in
terms of support and everything. I'm currently exploring 1.6 and is
starting to like it, but haven't tried 1.7 so which one should I go
for?

Hi Nathan,

I think you should go for 1.7 if you're planning to upgrade to 1.8.

There's no reason why you can't go for 1.7 except if meron ka talagang mga modules
na gagamitin na wala pang version nun.

But if you really want to use 1.6 naman better make sure na it's 1.6.5 and higher
so you can use the one-click version update para mas madali na
mag upgrade to 1.7 and then later on 1.8:
