I wish to take this opportunity to thank Abdurrahman Ogues our assigned sensei in Saudi Arabia for his perseverance, patience and persistence to achieve the historic aikido training seminar and dan grade promotion for our members in Madina and Yanbu KSA. It was a struggle that took us almost two years before the event was finally realized.
The event this August opened the door for the propagation of mainstream/traditio nal aikido in that part of the world. We were able to plant the seed for the expansion of our dojos in KSA. With the promotion of six(6) shodans, Abdurrahman sensei will now have the needed support to expand, continue and sustain aikido training in KSA.
I would like to thank also the support of the deshis in our madina and yanbu dojos who shared their monetary assets and time in support of the project. I wish to also convey my appreciation for Hombu dojos' grant of authority for the event especially the delegation authority given for the dan grade examination and promotion.
