How about a meetup to create some throwies and some other stuff for
the 4th? I'm offering my workshop and pizza/drinks if anyone is
willing to come over to Santa Rosa county. We could do a
brainstorming session at the meeting this Sat, gather materials and
such, and then get together to create next week or weekend (or
multiple days) depending on everyones schedules.

Thoughts? Comments?

Still thinking about how to make blinkies then change on command :) An RLC oscilator with a tuned inductor might respond to power applied from a transmitter. It gets complicated because you need 3 different oscillations to make colors on an RGB LED. If we tuned each one to a different freq then maybe you could shift each oscillator to different frequencies and then the colors would change. Gonna have to think about this some more.

Also, list of stuff I have for making things:

1 - Arduino Mega (older model)

2 - xbee wireless modules (long range wireless communication) and ttl-
usb cables

2 - Vex robotics kits and lots of addons (wheels, tracks, sensors,
etc). This could yield 1-2 robots

1 - 2.4ghz RC remote and receiver (and most of the parts to assemble
an aeroquad)

* - lots of misc pieces and parts (resistors, leds, structural, etc)

I also have 2 server racks and a rackmount server and a micro server
if we need hardware to play with to show off OS/es etc.

Oh! and I have a couple of neon transformers if we want to work up a
Jacob's ladder or two, those alway seem to impress.
