I thought, perhaps, by listing some of our ongoing and future projects, we may find new sources of expertise, feedback, support, and even assistance/partners.

1. Portable dock - my plan for next summer is to build a portable dock (2 sections) that gives me ~8'x8'-10'x10' of lounge area, can be moved on top of my station wagon, and is stable enough for me and a friend or two to camp out on on a peaceful lake.

2. I have a 250lb+ (stupidly heavy is how I think of it) 1950's British Dental chair that's been in a garage for 20 years or so; I've always wanted to refinish it (new paint/coating, and new upholstery), but because of it's weight/size and my lack of expertise, figured I'd never be able to afford it or get it done.  While I've been eighth-heartedly trying to sell it for a while, changes in life have me reconsidering working on it myself.  The catch is - I don't even know where to start, really.

3.  Now that my indoor kitchen aquaponics setup seems to be working - I'm thinking of ways to create a class-room sized one that can be made easily/sold at or near cost to schools, setup by untrained staff (or as a service), and show the kids a bit more of a full ecosystem at work.

4. I'd like to build a trailer/cart for my bike that can carry my tent-cot setup, cooler, and gear

Your portable dock.... When I was in Vancouver, this guy in the West End got permits every few years and would rent this trailer that would unfold and take up most of the street then turn into a complete deck with a BBQ, chairs, coolers, rails etc... it was very cool... At the end of the day, they just folded it up and drove away.
