Hello Makers,

I know I have been absent since we last meet, I am preparing myself
and my family for a upcoming deployment. I really wish I had more time
and that all of you that I've meet while founding this makerspace
could join me there. When I return in December I will try to get the
band back together but I would rather see someone else take the reins
and lead this group the way it deserves to be lead.

I'm am proud that at the very least I helped bring a few Makers
together that would never have otherwise met, ever. As far as I know
Vern and Rich have worked together on Vern's Huxley, and Jeremie is
almost done with his CNC and Reprap, James has dabbled a bit into the
Gen7 reprap electronics. I try to keep up on each one of the member's
a bit from the social media that initially brought us all together.

My secondary goal was to make friends with people that share my
interests and could have intelligent conversations with, maybe learn
something too. I wish to continue my relationships that I have made
through this group but I know that some of you feel that I have
abandoned the cause. I am sorry that it comes across that way and
sorry for my actions, or inactions, that have endorsed those
feelings.

I had a lot on my plate when I founded Makerspace San Diego. I was up
to my eyeballs in backlogged Kickstarter reward work. I signed up with
Makerplace and decided on using a ready to go kit for a 3D printing
class. Now that some of that work has been completed I feel that I can
take a breath and help a few people start getting into 3D printing at
Makerplace.

I understand Makerplace is not a one-size-fits-all fill-in for a
hackerspace. I have tried to get all of you in for a deep discount but
we just couldn't show enough membership interest to move forward with
that. If anyone is still interested, Tyler Detwilder is the contact
that can get you in on the MakerSpaceSD discount. Just mention it to
the desk.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I wish everyone the best
of luck. I hope we will cross paths again very soon.

Regards,
John

Best of luck John much respects to your service both military and
setting something like this up. I will keep an eye on this discussion
forum and randomly contribute when I can.

Doesn't Makerplace should have a free day for people to bring their
systems over and talk shop. If so ... why isn't it posted or
communicated through this google group?

If they do not have this ... is it possible to set it up (wondering
...) And curious how many people paying attention to this forum, would
go to get it started.

John, fair winds. I'll be happy to stay in touch and hope to continue the making when you get back.
