Given that no one showed up ... or bothered to call me (until 2 hours
later) ... I already have made plans for doing something else this
Saturday.
Basically its like this if you want to build repraps ... I am
interested. If you want to talk about building repraps ... I am not
interested.

I would be lying if I am saying I wasn't bummed out about it. I sort
of am scratching my head ... still. Do you really think we have that
many people interested in this stuff to have 2 meetings
simultaneously.
But anyway Rob and Verne stopped by today and told me that the meeting
was really good and that some laser cutter people showed up.
I would definately like to do some cutting ... (aka print beds and
experiment with a linear rail). Eventually I want to get one of my
own. It would be awesome to have access to one to do a couple of
cuts.
I would barter providing access to space for group for access to a
laser cutter for some cuts.
Thing is that I am moving out sometime before June and that will be
the end of my Reprap lab since its some of it is going to be an a stem
cell building and other parts will be in my backyard (another Saturday
project).
Richard
Yeah my wiring was loose looks like its working now.
This week isn't good for me anyway. Since I have to hustle on
preparing the move. (I am moving to Sanford next week)
Overall fundamentally, Makespace is opening on Morena (awesome ... I
can ride my bike there from my house). So having a kickstarter is sort
of obsolete, don't you think? Its started hurray @ Makespace!!
I am interested in collaborating on building repraps though. There is
so many little issues where crowdsourcing would be very effective
(multiple nozzles, different materials). So I am keen on coordinating
a build? Maybe try to allocate responsiblities to different parts of
the group.
Next week the space will be more open/empty and we can try again if
you want. I am not upset about moving out of Hillcrest. Since this is
my full time contractor job (reprapper/biotech ninja), I will be in a
place that is more active and I can reduce transportation costs coming
out here. This is place is just a hospital anyway ... its not like La
Jolla.
And I can learn how to make organs ... or be a reprap alternative meat
butcher for great grilling steaks :)
Richard
I am moving my expensive stuff to Sanford Regenerative Institute
(Torrey Pines glider port location) next week but I am keeping the
Hillcrest space until June (UCSD works this way).
So right now my place is in a state of chaos (more so then usual).
Next week it will be more emptied out and the benches will be more
accessible ... but actually I am out even next week too so I could
host a meeting in 3 weeks but then again Makerplace should be open
then.
I guess you are not on John's MakerspaceSD facebook page ... here is
the link to Makerplace -- http://www.makerplace.com/
