We had some success with the Makerscanner software this weekend, see:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4693
Unfortunately, I had to use windows because I could get it working in
OSX. Well, I got it to compile in OSX however it is failing to
connect to any camera I try. For instance, when I try to get it to
use the internal isight on my macbook pro, the light goes on by the
camera as if it's working, however the software won't connect when I
click the Camera Connect button, I get a gray window, and I see this
in the terminal:
macbuserpro:makerscanner-0.3.1 abuser$ ./makerscanner
2010-11-08 00:04:00.470 makerscanner[1892:903] Opening shmem segment
com.allocinit.CTCtrl2
2010-11-08 00:04:00.474 makerscanner[1892:903] Opening shmem segment
com.allocinit.CTImg2.0
2010-11-08 00:04:00.475 makerscanner[1892:903] Opening shmem segment
com.allocinit.CTImg2.1
Occasionally I see:
Camera dropped frame!
This is what I did to get it to compile:
install Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 3 Developer Package from
https://connect.apple.com/ (under Java) I think this was needed by
wxwidgets?
install mac ports from
http://www.macports.org/
sudo port install wxwidgets opencv
go read a book... (it takes a long time to compile)
