Hey,

I purchased a Mendel Prusa. The issue I am having seems to be that I
am trying to load outdated version of the firmware on the RAMPS board.

Can somebody give me the link to the RAMPS V1.4 Firmware so I can
flash the chip with it?

Thanks

I don't think there is a 1.4 version of firmware. Config the firmware
as 1.3 since the 1.4 hardware is pin compatible with the 1.3 version.

Have you followed the steps in "Makergear_Post_BuildV2_Fork.doc" in
the "Getting Started Guide" that is stickied at the start of this
forum? That has the most complete step-by-step writeup of MakerGear
Prusa software installation that I've found in one place so far. There
are several different programs that need to be installed in sequence.

There is no standard RAMPS v1.4 firmware. There are a number of
different programs you can choose between.

If you are building the MakerGear Mendel Prusa, the best firmware to
start with is Sprinter. That's because MakerGear|Rick's "Sprinter for
Prusa" sticky post at the start of this forum has the software
(mostly) configured for you.

You will want to want to apply the fix that sfisher10 notes in his
followup comment. You will probably need to change lines in
configuration.h about end-stops, and maybe stepper motor direction,
and modify your E-steps-per-mm (when you get to the point of
calibrating your extruder).

Then, once you've got everything printing well with that version of
Sprinter, you can learn how to get the latest sprinter by cloning it
from GitHub.

Then you can advance to cloning and configuring Marlin non-gen6 from
GitHub. Marlin is much smoother on curves, and quieter, and so is less
prone to vibrating loose bits of printer off. And then, if you can get
Marlin V1 beta working for you, you're doing better than me :)
