Hi All,

I'm using TurboCAD Mac Pro to generate my 3D models and export the required STL file. My problem is there are numerous settings for generating the STL file, and I haven't found any info on what a basic STL file setup should be for use with Slic3r. If anyone out there is using the same CAD program, or knows what is required for a proper STL file, then please direct me to the info.

Thanks,
Walt

not familiar with that program, but for reprap use you want 1 unit =
1mm, and ~0.5mm segment length for curves.

All our programs support both ascii and binary STLs; they both contain
exactly the same information but binary STLs are smaller on disk.

what other options does your program have?

Hi Triffid,

Below is the STL file options window that I don't understand. The values shown are the defaults:

Thanks for the help,

Edge length should be set to around 0.5mm

leave the rest as default I think, or have a play when you've worked out how to spot too many/too few segments.

I wonder what the STL facets checkbox does

That checkbox should keep the facets from being long shards.
