This message only applies to M2s with a single 24v power supply.

Please follow these very important steps to inspect your M2 Power Supply. We are aware of one instance where an M2 power supply was not grounded properly. As a precaution we are asking M2 owners to inspect their power supply. Photos attached.

1) If connected, unplug the power supply from the wall socket. You are only opening the black plastic case around the power supply. Do not open the actual (metal and silver) power supply.
2) Remove the eight plastic screws (four on each side) from the plastic power supply case using a Philips head screw driver. You do not need to remove the screws from the bottom of the power supply. Put the screws in a safe location.
3) Loosen the side panels so the top panel can be removed.
4) Tilt the back panel away from the back of the power supply and take a photo like the photo labled Example Photo.
5) Email your photo to sup...@makergear.com with Power Supply Inspection in the subject line.
6) If the power supply is OK, we will let you know that it is OK to reassemble the case and use your M2. If there is a problem, we will provide instructions for fixing the problem or for exchanging your power supply.

This message is also being sent separately to all registered M2 owners.

Thank you,
Rick

I hate it when I reverse ground and neutral and get a shocking reminder...

How can I get a 24V power supply and heated bed?  I already have the new hot end.  I can do the paralell to series wiring and firmware changes myself. I sent an email to Karen a few days ago asking how to buy them but haven't heard back.

You can get the 24V setup directly from Maker Gear, but you can't get to the page from any of the menus on their website.  Follow the discussion below:

quick question,
Is this the proper configuration for the parallel to series wiring:
(PSU terminals from left to right) , (to 6 terminal male connector on RAMBo from left to right)

terminations on PSU dc rail: (+V1= open, +V2 =L1+ , & +V3 = L2+) (-V1= open, -V2= L1- , & -V3= L2-)
terminations on RAMBo connector(T1, T3, & T5 = + charge) , (T2, T4, & T6 = common, negative polarity)

SOOOO:

L1+ to T1
L1- to T2
L2+ to T3
L2 - to T4
Jumper from T3 to T5
Jumper from T4 to T6

I know that could have been easier to explain. I Hope it was effective enough for you to see what I've got here.

By the way; I don't see how this could be wired in series this way but... That may be another conversation.
Thanks,
Kyle
