Anyone got experience with using a 0.5mm nozzle and what settings are you using for the Simplify3D Creator software?

I took the M2 printer profile and increased the extruder diameter, what else should I tweak? I have been messing with the extrusion multiplier and extrusion width but not really getting quality that I was with the 0.35 nozzle.

Here is my S3D settings file for .50 ABS. I have great luck with this size nozzle. I had to tweak the Extrusion Multiplier to get the best prints.

Having better luck even before trying out Theo's settings. Green is .5mm and clear is .35mm

Question about extrusion multiplier... why would you adjust the extrusion multiplier rather than filament diameter?  Does one change different outputs than the other?  So far I've been able to get good quality by just dialing in filament diameter but I've never seen an explanation as to why there are two places to adjust.

Also, keep in mind that different filaments make a HUGE difference in print quality.  Some rolls seem to churn out near perfect prints while others don't look as good or are less consistent.  Filament quality and properties are still a big part of print issues.  One time I struggled through an entire roll of filament before I figured out the problem was with that roll and not my printer.  It about drove me crazy because I never considered the problem might be a bad batch of filament.

I actually ended up turning down the nozzle diameter setting to .45mm. I noticed the walls weren't printing right next to each other. Turning down the nozzle diameter a bit helped close those gaps.

I adjust the Extrusion multiplier because it's convenient and I leave the diameter the same. For new filament I set the multiplier to 1. Then I do my test prints using the S3D Control Panel Override Settings on the fly to get the flow just right. Then I transfer the override to the Extrusion Multiplier and set the override to 100. I fine tune on the fly with the override and use the multiplier to make it permanent. It's fast and easy.

I find huge differences between filament brands and the best settings also.
