Hello. In my MakerGear Prusa Mendel Kit, I received 3 micro switches,
6 pre-crimped wires (2 for each micro switch) and 3 1k resistors (for
the EndStops)
How should I wire the endstop?
I mean according to http://reprap.org/wiki/Mechanical_Endstop , I
should use the resistors only if I use 3 wires (SGN, GND and include
+5V).
On the other hand, according to CidVilas http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?151,75606,75891#msg-75891
, It can be done with just 2 wires (not using +5V), but making some
adjustments to firmware. But then, what should I do with the included
1K resistors?
Thanks in advance.

I went with the 2-wire method using the built-in ATMega port resistors. It does require you use the compatible FW per his post. You won't need the resistors, so put them in storage for another project.

Wire NO to signal
Wire C to ground
Place the 1k resistor in series on the ground line. you really don't need the resistor now but if you should change your wiring in the future, it will be in place.

If you use the firmware that was included on the MEGA, you can active the the microswtiches using M998 in your gcode. Other firmware will vary.

Thanks. I did as Rick said and finally I finished the assembling.

I choosen Repsnapper as my host software and, when I click the button
"HOME", all micro-switches operate. (after I sent the code M998 ).

By now (4:20 am) my only problem is that when I click the button to
move 10 units (+10 or -10) in each axis, it just moves 5 mm (it
applies to X, Y and Z). On the other hand, the extruder spins very
slow.

Rick: Could you please post or send me the firmware that was uploaded
in the arduino that you sent me?

Thanks.
