Connector placement?

Hi, All,

I just got my watch in the mail. I'm looking at the face of it and
wondering if it wouldn't be better to mount the programming headers
from the back of the watch for a better "face", especially during
development when the "watch" is tethered for downloading/external
power. The 1x6 connector would pose no problems, but obviously the
2x3 ICSP would require a special mirrored cable for the initial
bootloader load.

I'm mentioning it now because it would affect the cutouts for any
printed or lasercut enclosure.

The BK-OUT connector, though, might want to stay pointing up,
depending on what it gets used for.

Is anyone far enough along with construction that they've seen how the
connectors and cables and such do or do not interfere with convenient
operations? Am I just making a bigger deal of things than they need
to be?

Thanks for any input or suggestions,

-ethan

Interesting. Is that odd cutout meant to be over the battery? (i.e.
- is that the "back" of the watch case?)

I hadn't thought of it as an electronic beltbuckle, but it's certainly
a good size for that.

Now to tie it into an electronic compass chip...

On the instructions page it says that he put pins in the cable's
connector and then just sticks them in the programming port holes and
tilts it down a bit to ensure good contact. I soldered mine in but
once I've designed an enclosure, I'm going to unsolder them and do as
stated above.
