Hi All,

I've been trying to complete some builds recenty, but they seem to be
failing repeatedly no matter how often I try re-generating the g-
code. I decided to try generating the code from my computer at work
incase it was a problem with my home PC. The work computer is
considerable slower than my PC at home. When generating the gCode for
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7116 I noticed some problems in the
log that I didn't see before.

Any ideas if this is a problem with my ReplicatorG/Skeinforge settings
(layer height? or something?) I assume others have successfully
printed the lowrider I'm trying to print now so I'm making an
assumption that the STL doesn't need additional work.

[16:40:55] This should never happen, there is a hole in the triangle
mesh, each edge should have two faces.
[16:40:55] 532 [352] [172, 173]
[16:40:55] Something will still be printed, but there is no guarantee
that it will be the correct shape.
[16:40:55] Once the gcode is saved, you should check over the layer
with a z of:
[16:40:55] 13.14
[16:40:56] Carving layer Z=13.5

Hello there,

I would use the gen 8 files from the lowrider page. I added support to attach mechanical endstops in the updated files.

About your actual question, people say you can use netfabb's online stl repair tool to fix your problem. I've never used it myself though.

One thing you can also try is to change your layer height, if the slices don't hit the hole, you should be fine. Sounds dumb but it has worked for me in the past.

Best,

I am printing my 4th version 8 lowrider and it works and prints fine. If there were any errors I completely ignored them. I don't think you mentioned what was failing but certainly printing plates is a bit stressful on the machine, all that extra x y movement going on and the fact that when something fails all the parts are wasted, Try the original as Aaron said and print one at a time and you might have better success. Let us know exactly what you see failing or attach a picture,
