Hey.

I wanted to mention this new device.  We all know the Filabot is going on almost 1 year since the kick starter was finished ?!?  It looks like some filabots have gone out, but I have yet to see a single review!  I stopped following the filabot when I came across this one!

Tim (elmoret) on the Solidoodle forums has something that is "almost ready" -- the Filastruder -- he is aiming for the final version end of January -- this year --.   He has extruded a TON of filament, run 24hrs straight on beta 2 a few times.  I missed the v2 beta program by few days.

The entire beta program has been documented from failed trust washers to motor casings blowing up (by miss-aligning the gear box on purpose).  He has the assembly instructions available as well.

Best of all he is aiming to have the full kit available for $200.

There has been some discussion around using recycled plastic.  Most feel the recycled "bits" would have to be uniform in size because of tolerance of the augar to the walls of the extrusion tube, it would not be practical.   Plus the ABS pellets are soooooooooooooo cheap.  One of the beta users has done coloured plastic (50:1 ratio with white ABS) with great results.

Doh just replied to the other thread.  The lyman looks extruder amazing and so did your version.  However sourcing parts and or paying for shipping for a 1 off is not practical.  His price point lower as well.

I was not implying that his was a brand new design - at least that's not what I was trying to make it sound like!
