Greetings, Fellow Makers,
For those in striking distance to Columbus, Ohio, The
Central Ohio Reprap and Makerbot Operators User Group
is having its November meeting this Wednesday, from
19:00 to 22:00, at The Columbus Idea Foundry: 1158 Corrugated
Way, Columbus, OH 43201, near the 5th Avenue exit of I-71.
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month. To
get announcements and to discuss Makerbot issues of local
importance, please join our local google group at:
http://groups.google.com/group/central-ohio-reprap-and-makerbot-operators/
Last month, we had several new faces. The activities included
Ryan showing off his progress on his Prusa Mendel build and
me stripping and rebuilding the Z Stage on CupCake #330. This
month, I'm planning to bring the CupCake back and run it
through some calibration paces after rebuilding the Hot End
at the Pittsburgh Mini Maker Fair. I'll also be talking about how
the Maker Faire went and be actively soliciting ideas about how
the local RepRap and Makerbot community can participate in
the Columbus Mini Maker Faire that's scheduled for next September.
The other big thing to talk about is how to celebrate two years
of monthly meetups at the December meeting. I would
like to encourage folks to setup bots and have something of
a demo and showcase night. In addition to discussions at
tomorrow's meeting, I will be sending out additional notices
and calls for participation through the mailing list.
The monthly meetings are free and open to all with an interest
in the technology regardless of prior experience. Bring your
enthusiasm down to the Columbus Idea Foundry, and if you
know someone who wants to learn more, bring them along, too.
