Hello everyone,

I have been working on a GPU accelerated solid modeler/slicer. It is available here:

Like OpenSCAD it lets you model through a language (Lua), however its main feature is that it directly slices the CSG to produce G-code and never has to produce an intermediate STL. The upside is that it is fast, allows complex CSGs and unique features such as procedural texturing for dual prints (see the vase on the main page). The downside is that you cannot get a 3D mesh out of it, only G-code. If needed you can still export the csg tree and load it back with OpenSCAD. It is relatively easy to convert between OpenSCAD and IceSL (I did that for bevel gears by GregForst and pins by Tbuser).

This release is a research prototype so it has quite high GPU requirements: NVidia series 4 or above - preferably a powerful one. I apologize in advance for those who will not be able to run it -- some necessary features are missing on other graphics cards, but I will try to fix that in the future, whenever possible. The available version is for Windows.

Since I am the happy owner of a Replicator 1 Dual + Sailfish, this software has been tested (only) for this printer. The G-Code production is however fully customizable.

Here are some examples of what I created or printed with it, on Thingiverse:
There are more examples on the website ...

Suggestions/comments/bug reports are all welcome! Please subscribe to and use the IceSL Google Group for these ( https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/icesl ).

Have fun!

PS: Of course, please be careful when printing and double check the G-code. This is experimental and bugs can and will happen, and these could harm your printer!!

I recently released a new version.

Main changes:

- Possibility to directly slice an STL (simply drop the STL onto the exe icon)
- Improved infill
- Special 'escape' paths to reduce mixup of colors during multi-filament prints.

Feel free to ask for help in case of trouble:  https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/icesl
