Ok, so im printing an object, right after clicking ok after the test
extrusion i get an "unknown error" but my robot keeps building!! The
only problems i see are that it pauses (ALOT) and doesnt maintain the
temperature!!
Also, i cant skeinforge objects! Because skeinforge wont open!

What platform are you running on, and what happens when you try to run
skeinforge? -a

FWIW, I'm having some problems with skeinforge on my G5/PowerPC box that
I don't see on my MacBook/Intel box. I'm beginning to suspect the
default python install on PowerPC is a bit wonky even tho it purports to
be the same version as on Intel.

Try MacPorts to install other versions of python. It compiles them
from source; takes a while but is very useful for accessing the full
breadth of opensource tools out there.

I use porticus as the primary UI; saves me having to "man port" every
time to get the right arguments in a terminal.

My suggestion is don't use the launcher, I had problems using that too.
Instead I just open up a terminal and launch the file directly.
skeinforge.py

I stumbled across some nice native osx gui for skeinforge but can't seem
to find it now. Anyone know what I'm talking about.

I'm running 10.5 but I also have fink and ports installed since lots of
stuff i use relies on python.

I downloaded the installer from python.org as ports has not been as
reliable of late. (Or maybe I'm just spoiled by ubuntu?) Switching
skeinforge to use it instead of the system python changed the set of STL
files that work/don't work. I'm not sure that's progress, but I'll
look into it later this week.

Probably SkeinFox, I'm using it on OSX/Intel. The idea of sharing
configs via github and being able to quickly change settings is nifty.
