Has anyone looked at 123D Design (http://www.123dapp.com/design) from Autodesk as a TinkerCAD replacement?

The desktop version is very complete, and the online version at least matches TinkerCAD in functionality (with some cool things, like fillets, chamfers and editable text).

Would really like to hear what people think.

Disclaimer: I work closely with the 123D team.

Gian:

I tried 123D Design and 123D Catch last summer and was disappointed with both. The design software seemed slow and focused around signing up and doing things through the 123D web site and ordering parts from their partners rather than a focus on 3D printing. I did not want to switch between the program and the web site to get an STL file. 123D catch is a great idea but the implementation is not quite there yet. It is a lot of work to produce results that then require additional software to end up with something printable. Software should be complete, provide the tools necessary to complete a task. On the other hand, I know some people that like the 123D products, just for me they were not complete or focused on 3D printing.

I used it for awhile. IMO it's probably a good thing for free and with very simple stuff. As I recall don't you upload the file and get it back as an stl?
