My Rep 1 has GT2 belts from both SDP/SI and Gates. SDP/SI actually puts
the part number on the belt and so the SDP/SI belt is part "A 6R51M293060".
Gates does not put the part numbers on -- you have to infer it.
Y axis, left hand side: SDP A 6R51M293060:
GT2 -> 2mm pitch; "060" -> 6.0 mm wide; "293" -> 293 grooves
Y axis, right hand side: Gates GT 2MR293
2MR-293-06 is the inferred part number
2MR -> GT2 -> 2mm pitch; 293 -> 293 grooves; 06 -> 6.0 mm wide
X axis, Gates GT 2MR424
2MR-424-06 is the inferred part number
2MR -> GT2 -> 2mm pitch; 424 -> 424 grooves; 06 -> 6.0 mm wide
Small Y axis belt on back side, Gates PGGT 2MR-166 (168? cannot read the last digit)
I think the PGGT is just "PowerGrip GT" which is part of the 2MR line name,
but am unsure. It's certainly not a 166 or 168 groove belt -- that would
make it 13 inches long which it definitely is not. However, the SolidWorks
model for the Rep 1 shows a GT2 belt with 83 teeth… So, I'm guessing that what
is called for is 2mm pitch, 6mm wide, 83 groove belt.
Speaking of the SolidWorks model, yes the other belts above (293 and 424 agree with
it).
I tend to buy my belts and idler pulleys direct from SDP/SI and you can use the
groove counts to figure out the equivalent belts from SDP/SI. By the way, on the
Rep2, MBI used SDP/SI's Fairloc hubs for the pulleys. They grip the rods much
better and you may want to consider using them instead of the vanilla set-screw
style. Just be sure to count the number of teeth on the pulleys.
