What if my Makerbot rep2 turns off? Does it resume printing after?

Hello:

I am new to the board. I am printing somethings that is going to take 13 hours to print, and I won't be back until Monday. But it's been raining a lot in Miami so I'm afraid the power might turn off and I can't resume the printing on Monday. Is there a way to pause the printing, and be able to turn off the printer and resume another day? Please help.

Thank you

If the printer powers down, the print is ruined. End of story. You can resume after a pause but if you lose power you lose position registration and the printer doesn't know how to restart.

I recommend a UPS power supply (battery backup) for powering both the computer and the printer.  That way power surges and brief power outages wont stop your printer.  I had a surge 90% through a 10 hour print once....  Never again.

And printing unattended isn't support by Makerbot. Indeed, they strongly
urge you to never print unattended. Just another printer-caught-fire report
over in another group. (It wasn't a makerbot, but fires do happen with 3D
printers.)
