Also, just a heads up on material cost. Just acrylic sheets alone to
cut a Replicator1 average about $200 unless you can buy in really high
volume. Acrylic is pretty expensive material. It takes mine (an 80
watt CO2 laser) about 2 hours of cut time and requires a pretty decent
sized bed. You aren't going to cut one with the typical cheap sub $2k
"hobby laser engraver". Your looking at at least a full 4x8 ft sheet
of 1/4 inch (really just over 5mm is typical thickness).
Metal frame, you better go to the hardware store and start pricing
angle pieces. IN aluminum from a Hardware store, using rivits in
aluminum could also easily hit $200. Steel is cheaper, but not by much
and will be very heavy and time consuming.
