Makerbot Mini+ Restoration

So I came across a Mini+ recently and it was working fine until I mistakenly decided to factory reset the system. Now the system is permanently "busy" and I cannot change device prefences. I do not have any information from the seller other than it works. 

Also are there any recommendations for a cheap extruder for this? The unit did not come with an extruder.

Unfortunately the best advice for you might be to just cut your losses. The Mini+ is a very proprietary printer, you are completely dependent on Makerbot for everything, including parts and customer support. There is no cheap extruder for this, and for the price to get one from Makerbot ($249) you could get a new Creality or similar brand printer that would probably work better than the Mini+.
