Hello all,

I'm having issues with my Makerbot x2. I reset it to default and some how screwed it up. When I try to preheat it only shows one extruder and doesn't show the other extruder or the heat bed. When I try to print a file and it comes time to start heating the bed I get this error. "Invalid Command: I received a command for a heat bed but I don't have one when I try to print." I tried to upgrade the firmware but it says I have the latest. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

That's correct: MakerBot makes a single firmware for both the Rep 2 and 2X and
the firmware has no way to know which hardware you have. It's told which when
it is set up at the factory. Reset it to defaults and it becomes a Rep 2.
So, set it to have an HBP and to have two extruders. You can do that with
MakerWare/Desktop via the Machine > Onboard Parameters. Then power cycle it.

Thanks Dan,

Where do I find "machine" when in makerware? I don't see it as an option.

It's one of the main menu items: file, machine, etc. If you don't find it,
then dig up the MakerWare documentation (what little of it exists). Or contact
MakerBot support.

It's called "MakerBots" now. Or maybe they have changed it yet again. Once upon
a time it was "Machines" just like RepG. (Sorry, I don't use MakerWare -- too slow
and buggy).
