Hello,

Has anyone seen this message on the screen when trying to print? "Oops, we have a problem with your Smart Extruder (Error 55: Heater Rise Watchdog Triggered). Please contact MakerBot Support". I received a new extruder for the MakerBot Replicator (Gen. 5) on Wednesday because my other one had been down for months. Help please!!!!

I've contacted their support team but haven't heard anything from them yet.

Thanks!
Jenn

Make sure you call support to talk to a person, their email ticket system is kind of useless.

I've had the same problems, and I just received a new print head two weeks ago. The thing eventually jammed to a point where it won't accept filament anymore. I had this issue only when upping the temperature to around 230. I usually hit "Print Again" and it would go away. Maybe it had to do with the update? I did update the firmware right before installing the new print head.

I've also been having this issue. For me, it also seems to happen whenever the machine is set to go all the way up to 230. But, the failure always happens at 206. When I tell it to go up to 225, however, it'll heat up to 225 no problem.

What does this error even actually mean?

i started getting this when i moved to 1.3 firmware- i went back to 1.2 and do not get it... funny how the release notes show this and homing is fixed, maybe they pushed out an old release...
