I recently acquired a Rep1 in dire need of help (completely cracked y-axis primary) -- I was able to fix many of the issues with it, however, neither of the extruders will push filament through. If I push the filament down manually, it feeds and prints fine, but obviously I don't want to have to sit there for an entire print and push it through...

The filament is definitely catching the motor, and the motor is turning, so I know it works, to some extent. Does anyone know what could be the cause/fix for this?

Thanks!

Is this setup with the original Rep1 Delrin plunger style extruder? AIUI, that style often had issues with getting just the right pressure on the filament. If that's what you have, try replacing it with this style. There are commercial versions too, from all of the usual sources (although that "usual source" is out of stock ATM?).

I've been keeping five Rep1 machines alive and active for a while now and I strongly second Rich's advice. You can also find aluminum versions available in various places online (here's a supercheap option: a.co/5zxh8RY ). But definitely - if you have the Delrin plunger don't even try another print until you replace it. Those were awful.

I just went ahead and ordered two new extruder drive blocks to replace the Delrin plungers - thanks so much for your help Rich and Adan!
