Rep 5th gen suggestions what to do with it

Anyone got any suggestions for what to do with a Rep 5th gen that has no build plate? I think its working, but then again, its a 5th gen so even new "working" is a generous description for the noise this thing makes just homing.

I got it with a damaged X belt, no control knob and damaged camera. I've got the gantry fixed up and the belts good now. The cameras no go - whoever tried messing with it before I got it managed to rip the camera connector straight off the control boards PCB.

It turns on, homes, and recognises the smart extruder I took off my Mini+ to test with, but I dont know what to do about the missing build plate. The part alone doesnt seem available in Australia.

And the noise. Oh wow. I thought the Mini+ was loud. I understand thats part and parcel for the 5th gens and their lack of stepper drivers thanks to makerbot going with a different option. Is there any tried and true fixes for that though?
