Makerbot Senior Capstone Project

Hello,


This semester I will be helping to advise a group of senior electrical/
computer engineering undergraduates for their capstone project. The
students would like to work with a Makerbot, and so far our
discussions have focused on the creation of one or more additional
heads for the machine to expand its fabrication capabilities. The
students plan to release their designs to the community at the end of
the project. A faculty member and I have been in discussions about
integrating the tool into our curriculum, so I am curious if anyone
has any features they wish the tool possessed for educational
purposes. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, I would welcome
them and can see if they might fit into the scope of this project.
