I stumbled upon "shower door rollers" in some searching today and discovered that some of the designs could be a reasonable replacement for the makerslide v-wheels. I'm guessing they aren't as durable (delrin is pretty tough) but they look nice, and at $0.31 each they compete enticingly against the $4.85 I bought mine for. Here's the aliexpress link:

Duane,
Those look like they could be a good fit for some applications. I'd encourage you to buy some and try. From the picture it looks like they don't have bearings inside. It's inclear how they roll. I'll have to look at my shower door. For some applications that might be fine, I mean my shower rolls fine. I don't think I'd run a CNC off those but I'd be interested to feel how they roll for the camera slider.

I did a bit of digging and while printing v-groove wheels, or using
a cheap alternative may work for some applications (my time lapse
right for instance) I don't think cheap will be a good option for
video work, especially is smooth moving and sound is an issue.
The MakerSlide wheels are a bit more expensive, but I think they're
also top-quality, so... it might just be the best option in the long
run.
