LAST DAY!  Please forward this to all your creative friends, favorite workshop instructors, teachers, and artists!

We had so much fun last summer at Seattle Mini Maker Faire that we're doing it again, bigger and better, on June 8th and 9th at the Seattle Center in the Northwest Rooms!  Apply now and show us what you've been making!  Application deadline is April 1.

Bigger!
This year we rented more space at the Seattle Center, and will offer larger booths and more elbow-room in the workshops. Last year we rented 10,000 square feet of the NW Rooms. This year we rented the entire building, 17,000 square feet of indoor space plus the outdoor courtyard.  The courtyard is great for bicycles, sculptures, and hot furnaces for metal and glass making!
Better!
Last year we were able to accept about eighty percent of the applications we received.  What do we look for when we decide?  We look for interactivity with the public, we look for people who want to teach a skill, demonstrate a technique, and share the process of making.  We prioritize projects that make us say WOW THAT'S SO AMAZING.  The highest priority goes to workshops where the public can do something and make something.

Fee structure for makers:  We created three tiers of fees that support the grass-roots mission of the event.

No-fee if you plan to not sell anything during the event, and you're not a corporation. For example, non-profit organizations, student projects, hobbyists who are not selling their wares, and artists who are not selling their art, fit into this no-fee category.  No fee at all.  Nothing hidden.

Corporate Sponsorship & Retailer Fees
:  If you are a corporation or a retailer
(e.g. Google, McLendons, VetCo, Pacific Fabrics), selling items made by others that you purchase wholesale and then resell, we ask that you sponsor your booth at the $500 level or higher.  See the Sponsor document for more details of the gives and gets for corporate sponsors.

Vendor of your own projects:  If you are a maker-vendor, and you sell things that you made yourself, then the booth fee for the weekend is $120.  Your application should include a description of project demonstrations and hands-on activities where the public can interact with your products.

Request to waive the fee:  A vendor can request to waive the fee or discount the fee.  For example, if you run an amazing workshop all weekend.  Or if your WOW project is expensive to transport, setup, and operate.

Questions about fees?  E-mail Chri...@makerfaireseattle.com

Don't let the form intimidate you.  The important things are: brief project description, project photo, setup description, safety concerns, and how many people will help staff your space.

We look forward to reading your application!
