We have to decide if we want to do MAKE:Princeton again this year!
Let me know if you are interested. Also, let me know what worked
about last year, and what didn't work.
I can say the following for sure: Princeton University provided
effectively no support to the group last year, and so this year, I
want it to be a freestanding organization.

Welcome back from India!
I continue to be interested in MAKE and in getting together.
Here are my thoughts about what worked and what didn't.
Worked:
Regular meetings that can be planned for
Interesting topics covering a variety of levels
Sharing of projects
Working together on a common project (sand casting, for instance)
Connecting with other DIY groups (glad to have Walt Bell from Hacktory)
Didn't work:
Meeting in a place that didn't support some of the things we want to do:
woodworking, metal working, forging, welding
Having to impose on you and your hospitality (sorry we dug a hole in your
backyard and tracked mud into your house)
Expecting students to find time to commit to meetings, they showed up once,
but not regularly
Bi-weekly works for me, but maybe not everyone. Monthly or maybe monthly
regularly with informal interval meetings if we are working on a
collaborative project?
BTW, I have been collecting discarded electronics throughout the summer for
us to dissect. I have a printer, scanner, several phones, etc.
What is your idea of separating from the University?
-k-
Although I am time and money strapped these days, I am interested in
the local MAKE and will try to make it out MAKE to make something or
see what others make. <and so on>
Over the summer, I have made a several household/garden items. Can
bring photos whenever we meet.
