Not sure if you've heard of this campaign or now. Just wanted to share it if you haven't heard of it and wanted to take the plunge.

I'm saving my pennies.

FABtotum - the Multipurpose Open Source Low Cost Personal Fabricator. Scan, 3D Print, Cut/Mill, just recently announced their plans for a laser module to be available for purchase later next year.
