Houston Green Scene - google groups: make it green houston

Hey folks.  Regretfully, I can't be at the meeting today. I have to to withdraw my rsvp.

I would like to share my project idea--I think it would be helpful to all of us in this group.

I have a forum site set up called www.HoustonGREENscene.com  The goal of it is to provide a (virtual) space where green-minded people can network, discuss, learn, teach or even just read about green topics.  The concept is to center the discussions on how green ideas, news, efforts, actions and such relates to Houston and Houstonians--but the site is not exclusive.  Ideally, since the site is community driven, our own needs, the needs of a particular community and/or our city will naturally emerge. 

Over the past several months, during my research of  GREEN things in Houston, the site has evolved into more than just a forum.  I'm considering expanding to include the following --and would like your thoughts, if you are interested.  Do you think we need or want it?

A calendar of local green events and activities
A comprehensive listing of local green businesses, organizations and places
A collection of useful tips on multiple green topics
Houston Green News - a couple of reporters of sorts to write regular articles
And of course, the forums where Houstonians discuss green topics of interest

We here at this group seem pretty passionate about our own area of interests.  Please feel free to visit the site, sign up and post your ideas, thoughts and projects--ideally, another member will be able to add experience, ask questions, share knowledge or wisdom. 

It's really about bringing like-minded minds together--like the meeting today.

I wish I could make it today--the projects sound so interesting so far and I'd love to see them on the site for all other members to read and comment about them.  Who knows, some really great things could happen!
