This error shows up everytime I install Kali Linux, whenever I try to boot it. Then, it dissapears and the screen blacks out. The error is the following:+[drm:vmw_host_log [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Failed to send host log message.

You might see the term "programmer" mentioned in error messages from a failed upload (e.g., "programmer is not responding"), but these error messages are not referring to the same thing as the programmers listed in the Arduino IDE Tools > Programmer menu.

I'm wanting to install Arch on an Asrock DeskMini X300 with Ryzen 4750G CPU installed. I've cleared CMOS, turned secure boot off and booted from USB. After getting the usual Arch installation menu and selecting install I get an ACPI BIOS error message, following which the screen goes blank and the display loses signal and shortly afterward the Arch boot menu reappears. Left alone it would do that all day. I had exactly the same experience when out of desperation I tested a n Ubuntu server install. However, Ubuntu Desktop booted into a full desktop environment. BIOS is latest available for the motherboard in question.

I've updated the BIOS and just tried booting archlinux-2022.05.01-x86_64.iso from USB. Whilst I no longer get the ACPI bios error, I get the Arch boot menu, select the default option, for a brief second you see the bootstrap begin, followed by a blank screen and after a few moments the archlinux-2022.05.01-x86_64.iso image's boot menu reappear. I get exactly the same result from systemrescuecd. Left to its own devices you end up in a perpetual loop of attempted boot followed by reappearance of the menu.

I also cannot flash RAK811_v3.0.0.14.H_20200810.bin in older RAK lora wireless. I still not update
RUI_RAK811_V3.0.0.12.H.T_Release.bin is used and can update software but RAK811_v3.0.0.14.H_20200810.bin cannot. need to update bootloader?

Hi @bioshock2k please find the latest firmware here. The hex file can be used with the STM32Cube programmer to flash both the firmware and the bootloader. After you are with the latest one you can use only the RAK DFU Tool for future updates and flashing the RUI compiled firmware.

The file that I shared is with included bootloader 3.0.5 - the latest one, only firmware 3.x.x.14 and up can be used. You can flash the whole HEX file(bootloader+firmware) with the STM32 Cube programmer.

Hi! I downloaded the RAK811_v3.0.0.14.H_20200810.bin file from your link. I flashed it using STM32Cube. However, module does not respond to either DFUTool or RAK_Serial_Port_Tool. Do I understand correctly that this file contains both the bootloader and the firmware?

Today went inside of .platformio\platforms\atmelmegaavr\boards\avr64da32.json and added
-DUSING_OPTIBOOT to line 4 (because well, you got it , no idea how to where to put it in platformio.ini )

Same about this, the bootloader path data in platform-atmelmegaavr/AVR64DA64.json at develop platformio/platform-atmelmegaavr GitHub has to be added and used in platform-atmelmegaavr/bootloader.py at develop platformio/platform-atmelmegaavr GitHub. Bootloader programming for AVRxxDAxx chips can be opened as a separate issue.

I don't really know much about how grub works. But in retrospect, it actually seems like a miracle that it was able to boot the system. If I understand it correctly, grub stores the block address of the first block of the next stage in the MBR. Am I correct in that I had to use update-grub because the balance shuffled the blocks around?

I preffer another scheme, i allways have my own grub2 (with grub.cfg edited manually) that chainloads all other linux/windows/etc bootloaders, that way each system has its own booloader and each system does not need to depend from others (multi-boot). Also i have that scheme on computers i only hacve one system, so i have ISO loop (so i can boot linux live distros that reside on .iso files), i also add options to jump the linux bootloader (just in case any update damages its own bootloader, etc) and a chaiload to the partition first sector (where the distro bootloader was installed).

Since i discover btrfs raid 1 letting me to recover from some KingDian SSD that after long periods without power (more than a week, eigth days and more) say some sectors are not readable (and if let non powered for another eigth days the list of non readable changes and the ones that were not readable become readable again with correct data on them; really weird malfunction on that KingDian SSDs); i only use btrfs raid 1 for my own main GRUB2 bootloader and for all linux.
