We just wrapped up the twins one year baby milestone plan and this is their completed custom album. One thing I love is that Heather took my advice and not only did we create images at each session of the twins together, we also photographed them as individuals. This is so important for children to not only feel part of their twin group, but also have their own identity. After all, someday they will be putting together a wedding slideshow from their childhood and would probably like to have a few individual images to share, not all twinsies photos!

We close this review with another dreamy highlight from the album, Pandora. It is easy to see where many artists that later came to be categorized as dream pop or shoegaze took their influence from.

Society often conditions LGBTQ people to feel out of place. This becomes a major point of contention for young people growing up and trying to accept their sexualities and it often leads to feelings of shame. Creating a romantic fantasy of what a healthy, fulfilling queer relationship looks like can be a way of coping with that stigma. Sadly, this vision is not always quickly achieved. This album captures the pain in realizing the difference between reality and fantasy.

My colleague Lars Gotrich described Hakim's sound as "soul music for outer-space." And it's true: There are so many elements of this album that feel otherworldly. For one, the way the mix plays with distance: Some vocals actually sound like they're arriving from far away, like they're being overheard from the next room. Some songs, like "Farmissplease," offer overtly psychedelic vibes. But throughout the album, Hakim balances that feeling of floating, which he creates with falsetto and lots of reverb, with the lusciously terrestrial feeling of being rooted to the ground. This dynamic is beautifully at work in "Miss Chew, " where Jesse & Forever's saxophone stylings soar, while prominent drums and bass lock perfectly and anchor the listener to earth.

But if Manson is at all uncomfortable about having to leave his temporary cocoon, he doesn't sound it. In fact, he sounds about as jovial and relaxed as Revolver has ever heard him, something which may have to do with how happy he is so far with the work-in-progress that is his forthcoming 11th studio album, the follow-up to 2017's Heaven Upside Down. A collaboration with outlaw country rocker Shooter Jennings, who'd previously teamed up with Manson in 2016 for a cover of David Bowie's "Cat People," the album will supposedly be out by the end of the year.

Before the as-yet-untitled album is released to wreak havoc upon the world, however, Manson is set to join Rob Zombie for the Twins of Evil: Hell Never Dies summer tour, and maybe even publishing a long-anticipated coffee table book of his paintings. As the crickets chirped merrily in the background, Manson caught us up on his forthcoming record and shared his thoughts on the subject of attitude.

Last night, I was working pretty late in the studio, and we finished the sixth song. So, it'll be out before the end of the year, definitely. I plan on going on the Twins of Evil tour, and I have an art book that I'm going to release, and I'll probably have a bunch of exhibitions all over to go along with it. And then I'll release the album after that.

IS IT JUST YOU AND SHOOTER ON THE ALBUM? My guitar player, Paul Wiley, is also working on some stuff for it, as well. And I have a new drummer in my band, Brandon Pertzborn [of Black Flag, Doyle and Ho99o9], so he'll probably be playing on the record. And Jamie Douglass, Shooter's drummer, he's also played on some stuff. Shooter and I also did a cover of "The End" by the Doors, for a new miniseries of The Stand by Stephen King, which I'm also going to be acting in. I think that sort of kick-started our process for the album, and started us exploring different things. He's very talented in so many ways, and working with him is very fluid. We have a totally different collaborative style than I did [with Tyler Bates] on the last two records. Sometimes Shooter will already be doing something that I was going to suggest. We lock brains a lot together. You know, that could be because of drugs and alcohol, or it could just be because we're in a small room together. Who knows? [Laughs] Or both!

As well as this, the content matter at times is incredibly difficult to get behind. The amount of disses Drake shares is alarming, to the point where he seems desperate for attention. Many of the tracks are immature, including the alleged comment on Megan Thee Stallion and her controversy surrounding Tory Lanez. 21 Savage is not off the hook either, with his questionable lyrics regarding women and other topics throughout the album.

Twinkie Twins is Cake for Dinner's sophomore album. This kid's CD features tunes from around the world which aim to expose children to a wide variety of rhythms and styles and encourages them to become part of the show!

The Potash Twins, Adeev and Ezra, released their recent album, Hornography, this week and features inspired by their move to Palm Springs at the start of the pandemic.

The Potash Twins explored buying a weekend escape in Palm Springs due to its proximity to Los Angeles where their recording studio is located. But when the pandemic hit, Palm Springs became The Potash Twins' full-time residence and the perfect setting to finish their latest album, Hornography, which releases May 3.

Adeev: I would say the main inspiration for this particular album was the question of where horns go today. Another inspiration was that throughout our entire life, we've always been given words of wisdom by all of our friends and mentors. Half of them were musicians, and the other half not.

Ezra: The way Bob was, he was like everybody's mentor. If you were in his sphere, he would take care of you, that's just the way that he was. Someone in our family was diagnosed with scleroderma. We didn't know that Bob was the president of the National Scleroderma Foundation. When he found that out, he said, "I'm going to take care of everything." He sent emails, texts, and called helping us. For the last two or three years, we were trying to figure out what project we were going to do together. We had a couple of opportunities, but with COVID, it didn't really work out. Then when we asked him if he would do the album, and he was really, really, really excited to do it. A portion of the album proceeds are going to the National Scleroderma Foundation in honor of Bob.
