Please re-send this to all dissertation students I have now read several draft dissertations and dissertation proposals - there are still many of you who do not seem to understand how to make proper academic reference in your papers - especially in your literature reviews. Use the LEEDS guide that I refer to below (first sent to you in mid-July). Most of you have done some basic reading and have supplied a good reference list - but in the body of your writing you are not providing a proper reference. As you move to the next stage - and need to include a thorough literature review - you will need to reference properly in an accepted academic way.
