According to court documents, filed in late November in Marion County, 24-year-old Samuel Weekly was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, a Level 5 felony, in relation to multiple files that Weekly reportedly had between April 1 and Nov. 21.
St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office investigators said that, so far, they've uncovered at least 168 images of child pornography on Walton's digital devices, with the suspect appearing to have sex with children in some of those files.
Brian Harris, 28, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, is charged with multiple counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of an unconscious person, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, indecent assault of an unconscious person, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, knowingly photographing or filming a child sex act, dissemination of child pornography, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.

Among those arrested was a Florida state prison corrections officer whose electronic devices were found with inappropriate images of minors as young as six months old. He was charged with 26 counts of enhanced possession of child pornography and another related charge for promoting child pornography.
The sheriff said another suspect, found with approximately 1,000 videos and images of children as young as two years old being sexually battered, told detectives that he had looked at thousands of child pornography files. He said the man confessed to sexually abusing three girls between the ages of five and eight years old with the help of another suspect.
HSI Washington received information from HSI Toronto that Collins was arrested by the Canadian Border Services Agency for importing and possessing child pornography files on a handheld video camera and a laptop. The videos allegedly show Collins engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl.
As a parent or guardian, talking to your teenager about sex and topics related to sex can be daunting. Technology has made it easier than ever for teenagers to access all kinds of content, both good and bad. This has created new challenges for parents to navigate, including speaking to their teens about sexting and about accessing inappropriate content, like pornography.
Determining how many teenagers are accessing pornography is difficult, most teenagers do not discuss this with their parents and might feel awkward discussing it with a researcher who is a stranger to them. Some studies estimate that between 30-65% of teens have been exposed to pornography online; most of those viewers came across it accidentally, through a mistyped search, as opposed to intentionally seeking it out. Older teens are more likely to have been exposed to online porn, and boys are more likely than girls to report having viewed it.
For children under the age of 12, exposure to porn can be distressing and harmful. For teenagers, sexual curiosity and exploration are natural and healthy parts of development. However, there are still potential problems that may come with viewing pornography online.
For younger children and tweens (and maybe early teens), implementing parental controls on their devices can be an important first step to creating safe online experiences. However, even with these controls in place, it is critical to talk to children about sex and pornography (no matter how uncomfortable those conversations may be!)
Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexis Klein argued in court papers for Haider to remain in custody, writing that agents retrieved more than 600 images or videos of child pornography from one of his laptops and at least 11 videos on his iPhone.
Ex-Florida quarterback Jalen Kitna, the son of retired NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, accepted a plea deal Wednesday that dismissed five felony child pornography charges stemming from his arrest last November.
Backup Florida Gators quarterback Jalen Kitna has been arrested on two counts of distribution of child exploitation material and three counts of possession of child pornography, according to a Gainesville Police Department release.
I have personally witnessed how pornography destroys men, women, teens, children, marriages and families. It reaches into the most private and intimate corners of our lives without mercy and without remorse. It is no longer a growing tide of destruction; we are already drowning in its dangerous grip.
I once found myself in its grip and fought my way out through family support, counseling, and rigorous honesty. I have now dedicated my life, as a professional counselor, to preventing addiction and helping people recover. I recommend five ways parents can prepare their children to steer clear of pornography while growing up in our porn-saturated society.
It is essential you teach them how to recognize pornography and what they should do when they see it. As you set yourself up as the person with answers, they will continue to come back to you as more questions arise.
If you wait until adolescence (around 12 years of age) your child will already be drifting away from you, looking to peers and other adults for answers. Besides this, kids are generally being exposed to pornography during the elementary school years. If you start teaching your children young (ideally as early as they have internet access) they still see you as the all powerful parent they need to rely on.
Many parents feel anxious when they make the decision to talk to kids about pornography. However, you cannot allow this anxiety and fear to make decisions for you. When we allow fear to take over, we slip into what is called the fear cycle. Fear can lead to excessive worry. We worry because we hope that constant thinking about the problem will lead to a solution that prevents us from having to face our fears. The act of worrying causes us pain. This pain leads us to feel further fear and anxiety. Hence, it is easy to stay stuck in fear!
I encourage parents to practice reflective listening when talking with kids. This is a communication strategy where the listener summarizes and repeats back what they heard the speaker say. Reflective listening often starts with phrases like this:
Dan Garner, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor that specializes in helping individuals, couples and families to heal from the harmful effects of pornography and other sexual addiction problems. He makes himself available for presentations and consultation to all who are affected including parents, spouses and religious/business leaders. Dan lives in Tri-Cities Washington with his wife and two children; he enjoys cooking, reading, playing games and spending as much time with his family as possible.
In the agreement, Nassar admitted to knowingly downloading images and videos containing child pornography in the fall of 2004. He admitted to possessing thousands of illegal images and videos from 2003 through 2016.
He also admitted that he attempted to conceal or destroy evidence of those images by paying to have his work laptop wiped clean and by throwing hard drives containing pornographic images in the trash in September 2016. He said he was aware that he was under investigation for criminal sexual behavior at that time.
In addition to possessing child pornography, Nassar has been charged with 25 counts of criminal sexual misconduct in state court and has been accused of molesting more than 100 young women while acting in his role as an osteopathic doctor. His plea in federal court represents the first time he has admitted to committing any crimes.
Daniel W. Merrick, 64, of 858 Route 446, Smethport, is charged with 570 counts of child pornography-involving indecent contact, second-degree felonies; 316 counts of child pornography-involving nudity, third-degree felonies; and one count of criminal use of a communications facility, a third-degree felony.
On Jan. 9, Trooper Robert Whyel with the state police computer crimes unit served a search warrant for the content on the Verizon Cloud account for that phone number. The results included 178 additional images of child pornography involving indecent contact and 139 involving nudity. The images were saved on a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G; there were numerous photos of Merrick on the account as well, the complaint stated.
So why all the trouble with guns? Why does a logic universally accepted regarding the First Amendment completely fall apart when we get to the Second? The harm to children from guns far exceeds the harm done by child pornography.
Using a child to produce a visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct is punishable by up to 30 years in federal prison with a 15-year mandatory minimum sentence. Distributing and possessing child pornography are punishable by up to 20 years in prison with a 5-year mandatory minimum sentence.
One dark irony of QAnon has always been that the conspiracy theory, which holds that President Trump is waging a war on a cabal of elite liberal pedophiles, rose to prominence on 8chan, an imageboard where users swapped child pornography.
The Washington Sex Offender Policy Board last year recommended the Legislature consider treatment rather than imprisonment for those convicted of possessing or viewing child pornography or caught in an internet sting operation.
Prior to 2006, possessing child pornography was considered a non-sex offense, until it was reclassified as a sex-offense and reclassified as a level 6 class B felony. Those convicted of it now must also register as a sex offender.
Of the 202 people convicted of possessing child pornography between 2015-2019, 82% were first-time offenders, according to SOPB, which also notes that the state does not allow sentencing alternatives for first-time sex offenses.
