Do gadgets that harness solar energy excite you or does designing and constructing some cool gadgets which can create an alternate source of lighting at your home or office make you wonder " Is this really possible " ? then this event is for you.
The IET DTU Students chapter and free Spirits Green Labs is organizing a SolarWorkshop at DTU (Delhi College of Engineering) on 31st Oct 2015
COURSE STRUCTURE
Course will cover following topics in detail:-
1. Basics of solar energy & its applications. This includes types of solar cells, different ways to harnesssolar energy, advantages and disadvantages of solar energy, its limitations, developments in the recent times and introduction to some simple and easy to use applications.
2. A practical session where each & every student will make a solar powered mobile phone charging device as a part of the course. This practical session will make sure that the theory is well absorbed and you are able to experiment with solar energy further.
3. Participants will be provided with a DIY (Do it Yourself) Kit to develop a solar powered charging device on their own. By saying 'on their own' we mean from designing the circuit on paper to fixing each and every component on the circuit board.
4. Participants will also be provided with a Solar Mobile Phone Charger, a product provided by us to the students as a part of Solar Education Initiative.
5. A demonstration of our products developed for rural areas where students can watch, assemble and understand the working of those products.
Learning: Students completing the workshop will get to know following :
1. Various renewable energy sources and types of systems 2. Types of solar cells and their efficiency 3. Sizing of solar panels for different applications 4. Perform power and energy calculations 5. Basics of low power DC - DC converters 6. Concepts of battery charging using solar energy 7. Design & analysis of solar mobile phone charging device 8. Development of solar mobile phone charging device
Certification: Every student will receive a certificate on completion of this workshop. This will certify that you have learned the basics of solar energy and are qualified to experiment on low power applications.
Training Type: In person Training Duration: 6 - 8 hours
