I purchased a 60 Day Game Time subscription for SWTOR through Steam. When I loaded up the game it still says I am a free-to-play player. My SWTOR account name is Endygaming. My Steam account was linked to my SWTOR account prior to the purchase, I then tried to unlink and relink the accounts after it not working and it still didn't work. I followed the instructions of the guide through this link -Discussion-Technical/INFO-Steam-Purchase-Not-Working/m-p/9356718#M... but have seen some people say they haven't gotten responses so I wanted to pose my issue here as well.

I should also note that I first tried to purchase the subscription through the SWTOR website but when entering my Visa debit card info I kept getting this message "We're sorry, but we can't perform transactions to this credit card. Please load a different one." and it wouldn't go through. I even tried to do it with my family members Visa credit card but got the same message.

I followed the link and reset the password for the EA account that uses the same email as my SWTOR account, [edit: email address removed]. I then logged into that email on the EA website. Is that all that needs to be done? Also the email that is connected to my Steam account is a different email than the one I use for my SWTOR account, would that effect anything? If it is would changing the emails associated resolve the issue?

Best to cancel the swtor subscription on steam as it was created when the swtor account was disabled , it is possible that subscription will continue to fail , hence cancelling it
it can be repurchased when the gametime ends

Valve continues to expand the type of offerings it allows on its Steam digital distribution service. Today the company added its first subscription-based title, Aventurine's fantasy MMO Darkfall Unholy Wars.

Customers can purchase the game for $40, and in doing so sign up for an automatically renewing $15 monthly subscription fee. Players will be able to cancel or change their subscription plans through Steam whenever they like.

While this is the first such game on Steam, the service has hosted a handful of formerly subscription-based titles after they went free-to-play, including Star Trek Online, Everquest, and DC Universe Online. Valve has hosted free-to-play games on its catalog since June of 2011.

Valve Software said on Thursday that game subscription plans have been added to Steam. Customers can now sign-up for, manage, cancel or renew game subscription plans at any time, online directly through Steam. This should keep credit card numbers out of databases installed at the publisher or game's dedicated websites.

The first PC game to utilize this new Subscription Plans feature is Darkfall Unholy Wars, a real-time PvP sandbox MMORPG where players form clans and "battle for dominance across the seamless, zoneless, uninstanced open fantasy world of Agon." The game costs $39.95 up-front and an additional $14.95 every thirty days.

To buy a subscription Plan, customers can head to the game's Steam listing and select a Plan. Once it's added to the cart, the customer's credit card will automatically be charged throughout the duration of the subscription. Valve states that subscriptions cannot be frozen, but they can be cancelled at any time via Account Details on Steam. The company also does not offer partial refunds for unused subscription time.

"Will reactivating my Subscription give me access to my old game history?" asks the FAQ. "This depends on the game. In some cases, your game data will automatically be re-linked to your Steam account. If this has not happened, you will need to contact the publisher of the game and have them re-initiate your previous game account and link it to your Steam account."

Prior to the launch of Steam's Subscription Plans service, publishers handled subscription fees within the game's client or through a related website. This method simply keeps the customer on the Steam platform, and makes monthly payments more convenient and secure. Additional subscription-based games will be supported at a later date, Valve said.

Valve began adding free-to-play games on Steam back in June 2011, many of which offer subscription-based models for premium content. Spiral Knights, Forsaken Worlds, Champions Online: Free for All, Global Agenda: Free Agent, and Alliance of Valliant Arms were the first five to appear, but the library has expanded to bigger players like Star Trek Online, Dungeons & Dragons Online, The Secret World, SyFy's Defiance and loads more.
