To make this checklist, I've taken information from PMDG documentation, publically available Boeing documentation, existing checklists including standard operating procedures from various airlines and from video research on YouTube.

If you are looking for a video tutorial to learn how to fly a 737NG aircraft, I highly recommend this tutorial from FilbertFlies where he runs through all procedures with an IRL 737-800 and MAX pilot: =mX5QRithc0E

GOt a question for you all. I have had my NGX now for about a 2months and I am still learning all the little ins and outs of it. My questions deals with the short turnaround panel state. Does anyone have a checklist for the actions that need to be done to get this plane ready to fly from this state. I thought I could improvise from the tutorials what needed to be done and have had mixed results i.e. (one engine wouldn't start and another the throttles would move but the engines stayed at idle). Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Sounds more like a background issue than an issue with your workflow. If your throttles move but things remain at idle, something is going on in the background. I forget what causes this however, as I've managed to avoid it.

Just wanted to post what I found out about what was going on in the background to this problem. Alright so what was going on was this. I have dual saitek quadrants and had programed the respective buttons underneath the throttles to cut off the engine fuel flow. When I would park at a gate I would hit those buttons and the engines would shutdown. When I would pushback from the gate and go to start the engines I would once again push the buttons to return fuel flow and start the engines. The engines would spool up and present the appearance of having actually started (but they haven't). The readings are just slightly off. What I noticed was that when I pressed one of the buttons on the throttle quadrant the corresponding lever on the display did not move to the cutoff or open position. So I tried parking at a gate I shut the first engine down with the throttle quadrant and the second engine using my mouse and hitting the lever on the display. When it came time to start the engines again the first engine did not start all the way and had no throttle response. The second engine started completely and had throttle response (also a difference in sound.) At that point I manually cycled the lever for engine one on the display and it fired right up.

1. During my first flight while i was running before taxi checks, voice recognition accidentally picked up some noise and on the green bar it showed stop. FO immediately stopped the checklist and no matter what command i gave, restart checks, cancel last etc nothing seemed to work and therefore i had to exit the sim and start all over as i could not even close the popup of the electronic checklist

2. Whenever i enter the runway and say "take off", automatically everything else skips and goes to the end of procedure to "clean up" state this is the 3rd time im experiencing this. and thus FO does not follow any procedure during the climb

2. exactly when i say take off it automatically goes into descent mode and i dont know how...no i only run the departure brief...i have fs2crew for the airbus and ngx too but dont encounter this issue

When I am in the middle of an electronic checklist, I respond by saying set and checked when I don't know the exact response. But near the end of the checklist, the screen freezes. No way to close it. Have to shut down and start over. I am going to try using paper checklist. Thank you.

When I started flying PMDG 737 NGX and iFly, I really struggled in the first days, because it's not easy to fly such airplane specially without knowing the exact procedure that you must follow in order to start up the aircraft for example, well I've read many documents and articles in order to learn how to fly it correctly, and that's exactly why I am writing this post now. Recently I've developed an app about procedures and checklists for Boeing 737 NG (PMDG, iFly ...), I gathered information from many resources in order to make it simple and productive. I also added some features like Night Mode which is very convenient during the night. Anyway, you can check this link for the app.

I did bring this up with the team, but at this point we've formally decided not to do customizable checklists in the product. There are just way too many variables involved for it to work properly and we don't want the support headache of people messing the airplane up with it, which would be possible by definition if we provided a way to custom script the checklists. I suspect most people have no idea how complex this system really is - it's not just a "dumb" list of items you check off with the mouse, the whole thing is "smart" and tied into the systems of the aircraft. Certain checklists items actually make configuration changes to the systems when they're performed and it really is just getting beyond the scope of our intent here to make the whole thing so variable.

Cabin is already modeled including individual seats and no there won't be 3D passengers modeled, way too many polys for 300+ passengers. We'd have to start removing other things if we were to do that so no...

We would be required to reach out to each of them for permission, secure their permission in the form of a contract, pay whatever fee they demand, then add quite a bit of customized logic that was created for that airline by Boeing's engineers...

Then we would have a further issue because your PMDG issued checklists/normal procedures and QRH would no longer match your software... And you can't even imagine how much it would cost to provide you with each airline's customized documentation...

So while it might be fun to give you guys a scripting language- the bottom line is that we would have to dumb down the actual checklist system logic in order to allow it to interface with a custom scripting process- otherwise you'd be able to put the checklist system into configurations from which it wouldn't recover and this would have a negative impact on your ability to complete a flight effectively...

Hi I have recently converted from FSX and am trying to find my way around X-Plane. Being used to the PMDG 737 I am trying to get familiar with (initially) the default 737-800. I am trying to get hold of some simple checklists - Cold and Dark to take off and landing and have searched the forum and downloaded what I thought was a simple checklist but it is obviously made to integrate into the plane. It's n a textfile format (attached) and can't find any information or tutorial about how to incoporate it into the X Plane 737. Can anyonehelp or point me in the right direction please? I have searched the forum including tutorials but with no success. Any help would be appreciated.

Could I suggest that perhaps you download and install the ZIBO B737-800 which is freeware with donations appreciated by the developers. It is based on the default X-Plane 11 B737-800 with amazing upgrades and additions including built in check lists. You can download via -plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/138974-b737-800x-zibo-mod-info-installation-download-links/

Hi John, Thanks for your reply, I intend to try the ZIBO in due course but thought I would try the default first just to get a grip with X Plane. It is frustrating leaving FSX having spent so much money on add ins but you get fed up tweaking and adjusting to keep it going. Final straw was difficulty in multi monitor set up so have taken the plunge!

Many thanks for your reply, Have downloaded the two files from your link. One says for XP 10 the other doesn't mention which version. Which should I use for XP 11.30? Do I put this in the plugins folder and does the script/checklist go in same folder? many thanks again for your help

This was absolutely excellent, thank you so much for posting it!
It's pretty awesome to see the checklist in action like that, gives me *SOME* reassurance the first time I try and lift this big birdie off the ground xD

This is a feature which, after years of flying PMDG A/C with failure mode 'off', will finally make me configure the failure module for a different kind of flightdeck experience - even though it'll take me quite a while to handle even a single failure properly! B)

I do really recommend this for people that want to learn positions of switches etc. and the base of the procedures. Also great for people who have been flying for a while and know the aircraft as well. If anyone wants me to do another for a different aircraft or something then let me know.
