Processing ERS-2 data in Envisat format

I'm trying to process a set of ERS-2 imageries in Envisat format.
According to the manual, I should use the script step_slc_ers_envi for
this, however I can't find the said script in the StaMPS package. Is
there any place where I can get a copy of this script? Thanks in
advance!

Hi,

For reading focused ERS images in Envisat format I shortcut by changing, before "link_slcs" step, the name of the files SAR....E1 or .E2  to A*.....N1, so that it calls the Envisat reader instead of the ERS reader. Just that.

Inside the "StaMPS_v3.2.1\DORIS_SCR\" folder, the  "M_IN_METHOD"  in the files "master_read_files_envisat" and "readfiles_Envisat" can also be switched from "ASAR" to "ERS_N1"; but I don´t know what difference lies behind.

Thanks for the suggestion. Did you just rename the files, or did you do anything else? Have you also tried processing imageries before 2002?

I renamed the files and changed the "M_IN_METHOD" to ERS_N1 (which is an option of the last DORIS).
Yes, with imagery before 2002.

I see, so other than to create an SLC from the image using ROI_PAC (or any other software), is there any workaround for this?

Hi,

Attached you can find a couple of scripts that were missing.

copy/update  them in your StaMPS bin folder: make_slcs_ers_envi, step_slcs_ers_envi and in the ROI_PAC_SCR : make_raw_ers.pl

We will include them in the next update of StaMPS.

Hi!

In the meanwhile I have done it myself:

First, you have to download the two scripts (i) make_raw_ers.pl and (ii) new_parse_ers.c from: http://www.roipac.org/ERS
(i) has to be dropped here */ROI_PAC_3_0_1/ROI_PAC/INT_SCR
(ii) has to be compiled (gcc new_parse_ers.c -o new_parse_ers) and dropped here */ROI_PAC_3_0_1/ROI_PAC/INT_BIN
Then, you can use the StaMPS scripts which I have uploaded in the attachment of this post, by dropping them here */stamps/StaMPS_v3.2.1/bin

Did anyone try to use the 'make_raw_ers.pl' to merge 2 continues frame in same track?

It work for one frame, but somehow I couldn't get a merges image after 'step_slc_ers_envi',
even I put 2 SAR_IM__0PXDLR19981202* files in the same folder.

Can someone provide me an idea?

find attached all files you need:

(i) make_raw_ers.pl and (ii) new_parse_ers.c (originally downloaded from: http://www.roipac.org/ERS)

(i) has to be dropped here */ROI_PAC_3_0_1/ROI_PAC/INT_SCR
(ii) has to be compiled (gcc new_parse_ers.c -o new_parse_ers) and dropped here */ROI_PAC_3_0_1/ROI_PAC/INT_BIN

Then, you can use the two StaMPS bash scripts in the attachment, by dropping them here */stamps/StaMPS_v3.2.1/bin (note that I haven't test it with the 3.3.b1 version)
