General Forum Rules
1. Do not post a question which has been discussed/answered in the past.
Before posting on the forum, please search by "the keyword" within the topics in the forum, to see if similar threads exist. Duplicate posts on the same topic are not allowed.
2. Do not spam or self-promote in the forums.
Spam is defined as unsolicited advertisement for goods, services and/or other web-sites or posts with little, no or completely unrelated content. Do not spam the forums with links to your site/forum or product, or try to self-promote your website, business or forums etc.
Your account will be banned permanently and your posts will be deleted. Spamming also includes sending private messages to a large number of different users.
3. Do not cross post questions.
It is not a good etiquette to ask the same question on multiple forums. There is normally one forum which is most suitable in which to post your question. If you're not sure where to post, ask a moderator first.
4. Asking for copyrighted matter, e-books and other compiled material or notes.
It is a malpractice to ask for copyrighted matter, e-books and other material or notes. The forum serves as medium to ask questions and post answers on a given topic. Posts of the nature, "Do you have any material on Cobol?" would be deleted and the poster would be warned about the same. It would be advisable to ask for it, off-the-group.
Further, the articles or posts on the blog http://www.mainframes360.com are an intellectual property, written and copyrighted by the author - Quasar S. Chunawala. Please do not post/reproduce any material of the blog, without seeking the author's permission.
5. Do not post "offensive" posts, links or images.
Do not post anything which is offensive, hateful, racist, sexist, discriminatory, obscene, vulgar or in violation of laws.
6. Sending private messages to other users of the forum.
It's not a good gesture to ask any user for help, without formally/informally knowing them. If you need help, make a new thread in the appropriate forum.
7. Remain respectful of other users, moderators and administrators at all times.
All posts should be professional and courteous. You have every right to disagree with your fellow community members and explain your perspective. Do not attack, degrade or otherwise belittle them or the quality of this community. You are expected to obey this rule. Phrases such as "shut up, idiot," are indicative of problematic posts and should be reported. Instead, you must be polite at all times, you might say, "I disagree with what you've said. In my opinion,...".
