Below is an email from MoveOn member Cynthia Dill, who created a petition at SignOn.org that is getting a lot of attention and may be of interest to people in your area. Dear MoveOn member,
Maine does not have any political process for citizens to recall elected officials, unlike 18 other states. The Maine state constitution provides for impeachment, a legal process, but its never been used to remove a civil officer.
If elected officials are not doing the job they were elected to do, why should they stay in office?
So I created a petition to the Maine State House, the Maine State Senate and Governor Paul LePage, which says:
"Create a citizens' recall process for state elected officials in Maine!"
Will you sign the petition? Click here to add your name, and then pass it along to your friends:
Thanks!
