Howdy Folks, it has been very much like forever since I have posted a Folk News, what’s with that?

Could it be the jajajob thang or trying to button up my shop & barn house or running fence around the garden is such a way that only the porcupine living in the apple tree above can get in to eat the broccoli. Oh yeah, that left out a few things like making maple syrup, turning a patch of woods INTO a garden ALL while trying to turn wooden bowls & tops, playing fiddle & all those life things.

Enough of the excuses already, onward:

The Full Buck Moon – Saturday July 12, 7:25 a.m. EST

About this time of year the new antlers of buck deer pop outta their foreheads wrapped in velvet, a layer of fur. Also called the Full Thunder Moon, for the obvious reasons & Hay Moon & I seem to recall seeing it as Grass Moon as well.

Tis the season for outdoor (& indoor) community concerts) many free. Tonight I enjoyed Sharon Pyne’s flute & guitar as well as Doug Protsik’s fiddle & accordion in the lovely arced ceiling room of the Nequasset Meeting Hall. The season there continues Thursday nights at 7pm.

It’s not hard to find concerts in Portland, Bowdoinham & almost anywhere.

Contradance this Saturday night in Topsham with Ed Howe, Baron Collin-Hills & Jamie Oshima, with caller Maggie Robinson.

2nd Sat July 12th, 2014 Topsham Contradance, (formerly in North Yarmouth), now at the Topsham Grange, 47 Pleasant St.
