And, if the really rich assortment of singing opportunities in the region coming up in May and June isn't enough, here is one more from Erin Fulton, who is giving a "lecture-singalong" in Sanbornton, NH on Monday the 1st of June.
This is part of the Society for American Music's "Sounding the Nation at 250" program. Erin explains: "The focus will be the "vestry music" of 1840s New England—the venue itself is a very lovely vestry from that time period—and how it prefigures gospel music. Quite a few of the selections we'll sing are either from American Vocalist or Holman's Revival Harmonist, and I also dug up one out of a little songster published in Bath in 1843."
Monday, June 1 - Sanborton, NH, 322 Upper Bay Rd., Sanbornton, NH, 03269. 6 pm. No need to register, just turn up.
