Maine Singing Weekend, July 21-23, 2023

Please join us for the 30th anniversary of the first Maine All-Day Singing, the Maine Shape Note Singing Weekend July 21 - 23, 2023. This year we will be gathering in a new location: beautiful Harpswell, Maine, just downeast along the coast from Portland and Freeport.

As has been our tradition, we will start the weekend by welcoming singers Friday evening with a chilli dinner and also singing from 7:00 - 9:00. This will take place at the Merriconeag Grange Hall at 529 Harpswell Neck Rd, Harpswell, ME. Singing will be from the Cooper Edition of The Sacred Harp.

Saturday we will be singing from The Sacred Harp, 1991 (Denson) in the oldest surviving meeting hall in Maine.

Singing will be from 10:00 - 4:00 at 120 Harpswell Neck Rd., Harpswell, ME. Lunch will be held down the street in the Centennial Hall building, as only water is allowed to be taken into the historic landmark.

Sunday the singing will continue from 9:00 - 12:00 at the Centennial Hall. We'll include the American Vocalist and other sources in Sunday's singing.
