From Chris Noren:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Some last-minute info for the Portland (Maine) All-Day Cooper Book Singing on Saturday (2 days away!):

1. Coffee and registration starts at 9:30; singing from 10-3. Portland New Church, 302 Stevens St.
2. PLEASE take a Covid antigen test before leaving home that morning. If you are unable to do so, we will have a limited number of tests on site. Please arrive at least 20 min early if you need to test onsite. And you will need to test outside or in your vehicle.
3. Regardless of whether you test negative, please don’t come if feeling under the weather. Plenty of bugs going around besides Covid (Flu, RSV…).
4. Food: bring your Thanksgiving leftovers! We’ll have some plugs available for crockpots; otherwise heat your food before leaving home, wrap it in a towel, and stick it in a box where it will stay toasty warm. Bring it inside when you arrive. Please bring your own serving utensils. Please label any dishes containing meat or nuts, if it’s not obvious.
5. Loaner Cooper books: we’ll have 25 or so (including 8 books for sale, $22), but please bring extras if you have ‘em.
6. Locals and out-of-towners arriving early: Karen and I will be visiting local breweries Friday afternoon (tomorrow!). We’ll start at Bissell Brothers at 1 PM-ish (they have food), then moving on to 1-2 others ad libitum. Text or FB message me if you want to meet us later and want to know where we are.
7. The Portland Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be at 5 PM in Monument Square.
8. ALSO, we’ll be singing on Sunday, 1-4 PM, in the same venue (Portland New Church). Denson Sacred Harp. Bring yer red books.
9. If you feel under the weather early next week, please take a Covid antigen test, and report positive tests to me or Chris Holley so we can notify attendees of potential exposure. You would remain anonymous.
10. Did I mention you need to test yourselves the morning of the singing, preferably before leaving home?

OK then! Looking forward to seeing y’all Saturday (or tomorrow!)
