The Acadia National Veteran’s Cemetery* will conduct the first two committals on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at 10AM and 11AM.
The PGR has been requested to Stand in Honor of these two Veterans:
“DJ" Clyde L. Merrill, 69, Clyde was born in Lincoln 12 May 1949, served in Vietnam as a combat infantryman, retired from the Great Northern Paper Mill .
Douglas Dowling, 72. Doug graduated from Orono High School, attended Beal College, and then served his country with honor as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an outgoing member of his community, serving the Harrington Volunteer Fire Department and the Pleasant River Ambulance Service. Doug was an active member of the VFW and American Legion for many years.

*The Acadia National Cemetery is a new 6.22-acre Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) national
cemetery located in Washington County, Maine. This cemetery will serve the needs of more than
23,599 Veterans, spouses and eligible children within a 75-mile radius of nearby Machias.
Also – Every Tuesday at 0900, WAA stands at “The Flagpole”, on Route 1 in Columbia Falls, proudly carrying on the tradition of the Freeport Flag Ladies to honor our country and flag.
