Thanks to everyone who responded to our query about the date. The overwhelming majority said the September date was preferred. So...

The 10th Annual Maine GIS Educators Conference will be held in conjunction with MEGUG's annual meeting on Friday, September 23rd at the Hutchinson Center in Belfast.

Please save the date, plan to bring students and their project posters, and stay tuned for a call for proposals for talks and workshops!

Happy 4th!

Tora

Dear UMS GIS Colleagues,

As you know, we have been working with the Maine GIS User Group over the past several years to offer an annual conference for GIS educators in Maine in conjunction with a MEGUG meeting, including workshops, presentations, and a student poster competition.

Over the past two years, because of changes in MEGUG's schedule, we've held the GIS ed conference in February and have had lower attendance due to weather. This year, MEGUG has proposed that we hold the conference (it will be the 10th!) on Friday, September 23rd at the Hutchinson Center in Belfast. So, I'm writing to ask you all for feedback on the proposed date for both K12 and higher ed educators and students.

Please take a minute ASAP to reply and let me know whether you are more likely to attend the conference in late September or early February.

We'll decide on a date in the next few days.

Thanks and happy summer!
Tora
